The talk is about methods of doing large scale field delineation from aerial imagery. Given the increasing importance of global food supplies, AI in agriculture has become integral for later development in the field. Given that modern agriculture is field level, a delineation of fields is required to be able to use such methods. The talk has no pre-requisites and will be a research-oriented informative talk.
As mentioned in the abstract, given the current world environmental and geo-political situation, maximizing the yield from agriculture is now more important than ever. Considering this, large developments have been made in the field of machine learning in agriculture. Since the modern agricultural landscape is primarily field-level, a delineation of fields on large scales is a prerequisite. During this talk, we will discuss: 1. Collection of aerial imagery and ground truth data for the problem 2. Model training and prediction post processing 3. Going from a small scale to a larger scale.
Modern techniques and methods will be discussed for each point. Preferably, the attendee should have a background in data science, but base-level knowledge will be sufficient.
Notes: While having previous experiences as a speaker at meetups, this is my first time as a speaker at a conference.
